Eighteenth-century manuscript inscriptions on upper pastedown of vol. 9: [1] "X.. 36.", [2] "5.1"; eighteenth-century manuscript inscription on upper pastedown of vol. 10: "X. 37". Binding (vols. 9-10): early eighteenth-century dark brown calf (rubbed) over boards; double blind fillet border with semi-circular blind roll pattern near spine; gilt roll pattern on board edges; raised bands; gold-tooled spine with title and vol. no. tooled directly on to spine; endbands; sewn on five supports, pastedown with guard attachment and endleaves; red sprinkled leaf edges. Upper boards loose. Binding (vols. 11-19, 26-7): eighteenth-century paper wrappers; vols. 11-17 in blue comb-pattern marbled wrappers, vols. 18-19 in red, blue, and yellow comb-pattern marbled wrappers, vol. 26 unbound, vol. 27 in plain blue paper wrapper; textblocks of vols. 11-19 & 27 sewn on two thongs. Woodworm damage to lower textblock of vol. 15. Historic insect damage or mould residue to upper cover of vol. 19 and lower cover of vol.27.
