Provenance: manuscript inscription in black ink on recto of front flyleaf: 'Isabella Blathwayt, Langridge 1801' [likely = Isabella Blathwayt (nee Pye), wife of Rev. George William Blathwayt, (1759-1806)]. Binding: eighteenth-century mottled tan leather over boards; sewn on five raised bands; marbled endpapers; floral border and cornerpieces tooled in gold on front and rear; gold tooling to spine; gold tooled board edges; red leather spine label with 'Souvenir de Caylus' lettered in gold.
