Binding: Nineteenth-century full Russia calf; triple gilt fillet (thin - thick - thin) to form an outer border; gilt rolled inner border; gilt rolled board edges and turn-ins; sewn onto five recessed cords; six false bands; blind stamped spine compartments; spine lettered direct (gilt tooled): 'Ireland's River Avon'; marbled textblock edges; marbled endpapers.
