Provenance: ownership inscription in ink on title-page: "Joan: Hudd:" [i.e. John Huddleston (1608-98]; within the calendar section are obituaries in Huddleston's hand, including members of the Huddleston, Ingleby, Howard, Catherick, Preston, Salkeld and other families. Binding: brown cloth by Thomas Brakell & Sons, 28.09.1950 (information from archive); all edges gilt, predates the 20th-century binding.

Published 1623 and signed by Father John Huddleston. Purchased by Joseph J. Procter, who bought it for sixpence from a stall outside the shop of Martin McGoff, Moorfields, Liverpool on 26th September 1950. Then by descent. Auctioned at Cato Crane Auctioneers, Liverpool, 30th March 2023, Lot 58, and purchased by the National Trust, with support from the Friends of the National Libraries and an anonymous donor.
