Darly, 25 April 1775: "The breeches in the Tura Maschereta" and "The petticoat at the Fieri Mascherata" (remains of nineteenth-century newspaper and glue on the back of both, so probably from another volume of prints). Pencil note on vol. 1 free endpaper verso in a twentieth-century hand: 143 plates in 2 vols. Each plate is mounted. Provenance: Armorial bookplate: Ex Libris Edward Arnold, Andrew W. Arnold, the Grove, Dorking, Surrey. [with motto Be Just and Fear Not]. Binding: Nineteenth-century, polished, cat’s paw calf over boards on five raised bands; gilt spine tooling; red and olive-green spine labels; double gilt fillet with border roll on covers; double gilt fillet on board edges; gilt floral and foliage rolls on board inners; gilt edges.
