On rear free endpaper pencil annotations listing journeys and the relevant page numbers. Provenance: probably purchased and annotated by George Harry Grey, 6th Earl of Stamford (1765-1845) on his Grand Tour 1786-1788. Binding: eighteenth-century mottled sheep; decorative printed endpapers; edges sprinked green; spine gilt-tooled and gilt-lettered on red spine label 'Routes de la Suisse'. With contemporary paper wrapper, perhaps cut up from a letter or parcel envelope addressed 'Ld Grey' and lettered on spine 'Routes de la Suisse'
