Manuscript pencil notes [from observations?] at foot of vol. 16, plates 52-4; vol. 20 plates 38, 50-1. Pencil crosses at the foot of vol. 19, plates 9, 14-16, 19-23, 25, 28. Provenance: No marks of provenance. Binding: Eighteenth-century polished tree sheep over boards on six recessed cords, gilt spine tooling, olive-green and black spine labels, Greek key border roll on covers, gilt rolls on board edges and inners, yellow painted edges, pale blue silk bookmarks. Marks of a shelf on the back cover indicate that this vol. was originally against the end of a shelf (lhs).
