Binding: Bernese binding of 1781 in red morocco gilt; fillet edges to covers with emblem at centre of an open book with ruler and quills, the book inscribed "Nemo religione nulla felix est". Green lettering-piece 'Heptameron/ François' with wavy line above and below, floral panels and, across tail, a solid pallet engraved 'G. Freudenberger'. Orange headbands, gilt edges, stone marbled endleaves. Bound by Gabriel Freudenberger of Berne (d.1806), brother of the artist Sigismund Freudenberger.
