Nihil interim deest" [i.e. catalogue code and collation note, written by John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]. Loose sheet of paper attached to front fly-leaf with a pin, containing further collation notes written by John Mitchell and comparing Richard Ellys's copy with that of a Mr. Barnard: "N.B. The 4 first parts, has the lives; Mr Barnard's wants them. Part 1. Sir Richard's has Joan. Hugo no. 54, p. 298. Part 2. Dio. Lebeus Batillius no. 4, p. 13. ... Part I. - plates 56. 2. - 61. 3. - 50. 4. - 50. 5. - 20. Sir Richard's, in all - 237. Mr Barnard's in all, the first 5 parts - 238. And his has also Part 6, 7, 8, 9, or four continuations. Binding: seventeenth-century full sprinkled calf (rubbed); sewn on five supports; five raised bands; gold-tooled spine, gilt title 'Bibliotheca Illustr. Viror.' lettered directly; red painted textblock edges.
