Summary
Bibliographic description
[12], 176 p. ; 8vo. Running number: 7767. Provenance: manuscript initial on recto of front fly-leaf: "M." [i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]. Manuscript price[?] on recto of front fly-leaf, scribbled over in ink and illegible. Manuscript inscription on verso of front fly-leaf: "Z: Isham. Aureliae. 1678. / Ex dono dni. Fr. Lud. à Graffenriedt. Procuratoris i. nat. Germanicae. /" [i.e. given to Zacheus Isham (1651-1705), Church of England clergyman, by one Franz Ludwig von Graffenried. This possibly happened when between 1676 and 1678 Isham acted as tutor to his cousin Sir Thomas Isham, 3rd baronet, accompanied him on his grand tour and presumably visited Orléans]. Manuscript codes at foot of rear pastedown. Binding: seventeenth-century full sprinkled calf; sewn on four raised bands; gold-tooled spine; red and brown sprinkled textblock edges.
