Provenance: vol. 1 with armorial bookplate of Archibald Algernon Henry St. Maur, formerly Seymour, 13th Duke of Somerset (1810-1891), with motto: foy pour devoir; black ink stamp on flyleaf: The National Trust founded 1895. Binding: nineteenth-century full smooth red goatskin over boards on five raised bands, double gilt fillet to covers, spine with floral device in compartments and contrasting labels, geometric gilt roll at board edges, blind foliate roll at turn-ins, marbled edges and endpapers.
