Provenance: armorial bookplate on front pastedown: arms of the Blouet de Camilly family with the cross of the Knights of Malta and the coronet of a marquis, lettered 'Ex musaeo Equitis de Camilly' [i.e. Pierre Blouet de Camilly (1666-1753), honorary bailiff of the Knights of Malta]. Manuscript inscription on front fly-leaf: "Title. 50 statues, 22 busts. In all 72 pl. & title" [i.e. count of plates, written by John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]. Binding: eighteenth-century[?] full sprinkled calf; sewn on six raised bands; double and single blind fillet border; gilt roll pattern along board edges; gold-tooled spine; gilt title 'Villa Pamph' on brown leather label on spine. French curl pattern marbled endpapers. Red sprinkled textblock edges.
