Nineteenth-century armorial bookplate, lettered "John Edwards" [Either John Edwards of Plas Machynlleth (d. 1789) or his son Sir John Edwards 1st Bt of Garth, Montgomeryshire. (1770-1850) of Greenfields (Plas Machynlleth), whose daughter by his second wife, Mary Cornelia, m. in 1846 George Henry Robert Charles William Vane-Tempest, 5th Marquess of Londonderry from 1872]. Binding: Eighteenth-century full sprinkled sheep. Sewn on three cords, five raised bands, gilt tooling on spine. Red and green leather spine labels "Sully's memoirs" with vol. numbers below, lettered in gilt. Vols. 4-5 are paint-stained on spine. Vol. 6 is worm damaged with some loss of text.
