Loosely inserted between p. 96 and Plate I is a newspaper photograph of the caretaker Mrs. Hickey standing in front of the entrance to Brugh na Boinne (New Grange), Co. Meath. Various pencil marks on upper endpapers, including a bookseller's mark "4/11/24 60C Scarce 25/-". Provenance: Nineteenth or early twentieth-century die-sinker bookplate, lettered "W. H. Duignan Walsall" [i.e. William Henry Duignan (1824-1914), antiquarian and etymologist]. Binding: Nineteenth-century publisher's half blue cloth on blue marble paper over boards, gilt lettered on spine "Tumili at New Grange, Dowth & Knowth".
