A1-L2, with loss of some text; some pages sticking together. With sig. G6, without G7,8, chi1 present. Provenance: manuscript initial on front fly-leaf: "M." [i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]; with Mitchell's manuscript code at foot of leaf: "β½." [i.e. beta½ = Greek number[?] 2½]. Manuscript inscription on fly-leaf facing title page: "Dean Swift" [i.e. catalogue entry for anonymous works, written by John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]. Manuscript inscription on title page, scribbled over in ink and illegible. Binding: eighteenth-century Cambridge-style blind-panelled sprinkled and plain calf (badly stained, some damage on both covers); sewn onto three sewing supports, with five raised bands on spine; gilt roll pattern along board edges; gold-tooled spine, with floral stamp decoration within fillet panels; gilt title 'Swifts Miscellanies' on brown leather label on spine. Red sprinkled textblock edges.
