Provenance: inscriptions in three hands: 1) 'John Bowden' on the title pages of each volume, partially erased from vol. 1. 2)Vol 1 flyleaf recto inscribed: 'Jane Lenox Decr. 21st / 87'. 3) Verso: 'Sophia J. Conyngham'. Binding: Eighteenth-century smooth tan calf, spines ruled gilt with five raised bands, red labels.
