Provenance: manuscript initial on front pastedown: "M." [i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]. Manuscript codes on title page: "fh" and "B". Binding: seventeenth-century English full sprinkled calf (front board detached, wormed); sewn onto four alum-tawed leather cords; triple blind fillet border; single blind fillet along board edges, with two-way diagonal hatching adjacent to the spine at the head and foot of the boards typical of Oxford bindings; blind fillet panels on spine, otherwise plain. Blue and red sprinkled textblock edges. Printed waste (in Latin, early sixteenth-century) used as pastedowns.
