Binding: seventeenth-century full sprinkled calf; sewn onto four leather sewing supports; recessed cords, smooth spine; blind-tooled covers with an outer framework border of alternating fillets and roll pattern; spine rebacked in twentieth-century blind-tooled calf, with original spine retained and overlaid over new spine. Red sprinkled textblock edges. Pencil note on front fly-leaf: "Repaired at Cambridge? 1956".
