This is a code written in a number of books in Blickling's library by John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]. Manuscript number (price?) at head of front fly-leaf: "16. 0.". Manuscript code on front pastedown. Binding: seventeenth-century full sprinkled calf (rubbed, lower board detached); sewn onto six raised bands; covers have a double blind fillet border with additional double blind fillet parallel to spine-edge; gilt roll pattern along board edges; blind fillets on spine; title label missing from spine. Red sprinkled bookblock edges.
