Also inscribed on 1st leaf: "John Nicoll" [poss. John Nicol of Southgate, the Marquis's father-in-law]. Binding: Eighteenth-century panelled calf, sewn on 2 cords, 4 raised bands. Red leather spine label, lettered in gilt: "Theocritus / Creech".
