Widdrington", plus (in a different hand?) manuscript symbols and date "1648" [possibly Ralph Widdrington (1640-1718), a member of the Widdrington family, barons Widdrington, of Blankney Hall, Lincolnshire, neighbours of Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742). Or possibly Ralph Widdrington (1614/15-1688), of Christ's College and Regius Professor of Greek at Cambridge University]. Binding: seventeenth-century full calf; sewn onto three sewing supports; double blind fillet border with additional double blind fillet running parallel to spine-edge, with small blind cornerpiece stamps; double blind fillet along board edges; recessed cords, smooth spine; blind fillet decoration on spine; gilt title on brown goatskin label on spine. Red sprinkled textblock edges.
