[32], 505, [23] p. ; 8vo. Running number: 6149. Provenance: small book number label on front pastedown: 'Y' [printed in red] / "105" [in manuscript black ink]. These inventory or shelfmark labels are characteristic of books owned by Louis-Henri de Loménie, comte de Brienne (1635-1698). Count Loménie de Brienne's library was sold in London in 1724, where Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742) undoubtedly purchased it. Binding: seventeenth-century full sprinkled calf; sewn onto five sewing supports; gilt roll pattern along board edges; gold-tooled spine with a pattern of repeated gilt stamps in the panels; gilt title lettered directly onto spine. Red and brown sprinkled textblock edges.
