Manuscript former shelfmarks in pencil on verso of vol. 1 front free endpaper: "M3" and "L3" (both crossed out). Manuscript former shelfmark in black ink on recto of vol. 1 rear free endpaper: "M3". Binding: eighteenth-century full mottled calf; sewn onto five sewing supports; double gilt fillet border; gilt roll pattern along board edges; gold-tooled spines, with floral stamps and rolls; gilt title 'Richard on Milton' on brown goatskin label on spines. Red and brown sprinkled textblock edges. Marbled endpapers.
