Manuscript former shelfmark in pencil on verso of front free endpaper in vol. 1: "J1" (crossed out). Manuscript former shelfmark on recto of rear free endpaper in vol. 1: "aa2". Manuscript annotations, marginalia and markings in ink and pencil on p. 376-406 in vol. 2, presumably in the hand of William Windham (1717-1761). Manuscript equation in pencil on recto of rear free endpaper in vol. 2. Binding: eighteenth-century full light brown reversed calf; double blind fillet border, with blind roll pattern along spine-edges; blind roll pattern along board edges; gilt title and volume number on brown leather label on spines; remnants of paper label at head of spines. Red edges on textblocks. Comb- and swirl-marbled endpapers.
