318, [2] p. ; 19cm. Copious annotations on endpapers and half-title. Generally looks well-read. Loosely inserted dried organic matter (prob. a dried flower) between pp. 48-9. Provenance: Inscribed on upper pastedown: "Ph. Yorke [i.e. Philip Yorke II of Erddig (1849-1922), son of Simon Yorke III of Erddig and Victoria Mary Louisa Cust], the kind gift of Gen[era]l Lamb". Binding: Nineteenth-century publisher's quarter vellum on green cloth, gilt lettered direct on spine. Leaves untrimmed. Text-block damaged and leaves rather loose (some detached at the front).

Given by Philip Yorke III (1905-1978) along with the estate, house and contents to the National Trust in 1973.
