Shugborough [i.e. Thomas Anson, of Shugbrough (1695-1773)]; pasted over eighteenth-century early armorial bookplate of Richard Banner [Banner (b. 1696) of Little Aston Hall, sold library to Thomas Anson in about 1745]. Inscribed on free endpaper: "Ex Bibliotheca Theodori Van Abbesteech S:U:D Aetatis [?]8 Ao 1692". Binding: seventeenth-century mottled calf; sewn onto four raised bands; gilt tooled spine.
