Shugborough [i.e. Thomas Anson, of Shugbrough (1695-1773) or perhaps Thomas Anson, created Viscount Anson & Baron Soberton, 1806 (1767-1818)]; pasted over eighteenth-century early armorial bookplate of Richard Banner [Banner (b. 1696) of Little Aston Hall, sold library to Thomas Anson in about 1745]. Binding: late seventeenth or early eighteenth-century sprinkled calf; double blind fillet border, blind roll quarter margin and blind tooled cornerpieces; gilt tooled spine.
