Shugborough [i.e. Thomas Anson, of Shugbrough (1695-1773) or perhaps Thomas Anson, created Viscount Anson & Baron Soberton, 1806 (1767-1818)]; pasted over eighteenth-century early armorial bookplate of Richard Banner [b. 1696, sold library to Thomas Anson in about 1745]. Binding: eighteenth-century calf; blind tooled panel; gilt tooled spines.
