Provenance: manuscript inscription on front fly-leaf: "M. 4. leaves, which should follow after the first two, are transposed, & put after p. 8" [i.e. catalogue code and collation note written by John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]; with Mitchell's manuscript code at foot of leaf: "γ'" [i.e. gamma' = Greek number 3]. Manuscript initial letter on front fly-leaf: "G" [underlined]. Binding: eighteenth-century Cambridge-style blind-panelled calf; gilt roll pattern along board edges. Red sprinkled edges.
