Summary
Bibliographic description
[8], 230, [2]; 45, [3] p. ; 8vo. Running number: 5176. Provenance: manuscript inscription on fly-leaf facing title page, seemingly written in mirror-writing (unless the ink has bled through from the recto, but the text on the recto is very faint, possibly washed out): "Con- / stant: / Imp: de / Imperio"; this matches the title label put on the spine by the binder, so is probably a former owner's instruction to the binder. Binding: eighteenth-century sprinkled calf; gilt double fillet border; gilt roll pattern on board edges; gold-tooled spine, with gilt title label. Brown sprinkled edges, burnished.
Makers and roles
