Edges: plain cut to show proof, no decoration, polished Spine Lining: moderate round, quadrant joints, transverse linings of plain goat parchment in all panels End Bands: primary endband in plain thread without bead over tawed core, secondary 1x1 L-R in cream and yellow silk over a crowning core with a front bead on the bookblock and back bead between the cores. Slips laced through cover. Bookmark: None Boards: Thin cartonnage boards Covering: reversed goat parchment with scraper marks on the fleshside. Tooling Spine: Early MS title at head of spine Tooling Sides: Furniture: 2 pairs of yellow and red contrasted silk ties on the fore-edge Enclosure: None Binding Notes: Loosely inserted bifolium of wove paper with notes inside right cover.

[12], 477, [3] p. ; fol. Provenance: eighteenth century manuscript inscription "Davenport Talbot", i.e. William Davenport Talbot, 1764-1800, on recto of first free end-paper. A folded leaf bearing a manuscript genealogical table in Italian and English in a seventeenth? century hand is loosely inserted at end of volume. Seventeenth? century manuscript inscription "63", possibly a previous shelfmark, on title page. Binding: seventeenth? century stiffened vellum; evidence of ties at fore-edges of boards; two yellow silk ties and one brown silk tie remain intact; manuscript title "Costanzo De Napoli" in capital letters in an eighteenth? century Roman hand on spine.
