[24], 624, [6], 629-1220, [52] p. ; 8vo. Running number: 4683. Provenance: prize book from the Latin school of the town of Alkmaar, in the province Noord Holland. The presentation leaf with details of the recipient appears to have been cut out as a stub remains before the title page. Binding: Dutch, seventeenth-century vellum over boards. Prize binding, gold mixed with copper (oxidised, now green) armorial centrepiece stamp of the coat of arms of Alkmaar: tower (with window and portculis) on shield, lion supporters, motto "Praemium diligentiae" on scroll, suspended from which on three cords a wreath. Single blind fillet border; holes in boards for pairs of ties (missing); gilt title on brown leather label on spine.
