Manuscript inscriptions on title page: "Jo Goodrick" and "Savile Goodricke" [i.e. Sir John Goodricke (1617-1670) and Savile Goodricke (1618 or 9-1651?), both of Ribston Hall, Nidderdale, Yorkshire. Sir John, first baronet, served in the duke of Newcastle’s royalist northern army in the civil wars; his brother Savile was a student at Magdelen Hall, Oxford, and died at Vienna, aged 32]. Various manuscript scribbles on leaf ²Zz4, and rear fly-leaf and pastedown. Manuscript verse in Latin on death and life on rear fly-leaf, with initials "F [or E].G.". Binding: seventeenth-century sprinkled calf; triple blind fillet border; single gilt fillet on board edges; gilt title label on spine. Red stained edges.
