Eighteenth-century crest bookplate with motto: Nil deperandum. Thomas Anson Esqr. Shugborough [i.e. Thomas Anson, of Shugbrough (1695-1773) or perhaps Thomas Anson, created Viscount Anson & Baron Soberton, 1806 (1767-1818)]. Binding: seventeenth-century calf; double blind fillet border, with blind roll on spine side; gold tooled spine and board edges; five raised bands; gold lettered spine label (part missing).
