Shugborough [i.e. Thomas Anson, of Shugbrough (1695-1773) or perhaps Thomas Anson, created Viscount Anson & Baron Soberton, 1806 (1767-1818)]. Early eighteenth-century armorial bookplate of Richard Banner, with motto: "Nil sine numine", pasted over with endpaper in vols. 1 & 2, but present in v.3. Binding: early eighteenth-century sprinkled calf; blind panels; gold tooled spines and board edges; missing spine labels. Vol. 3 rebacked.
