Provenance: manuscript inscription on title page: "Bibliothecae Colbertinae" [i.e. from the library of the great French bibliophile Jean-Baptiste Colbert, Marquis de Seignelay (1619-1683), Chief Minister to Louis XIV; written in the hand of his librarian, Étienne Baluze (1630-1718). Colbert’s library was dispersed at a sale in Paris, 24 May-21 October 1728, and at two sales in London (23 April 1729 and 17 November 1735)]. Binding: seventeenth-century limp vellum; triple blind fillet border; yapp edges; stubs of pairs of ties. Remnants of manuscript on spine (illegible).
