Provenance: nineteenth-century crest bookplate, after 1831, with earl’s coronet: Lichfield [i.e. Thomas William Anson, 2nd Viscount Anson, created Earl of Lichfield, 1831 (1795-1854); and also used by subsequent earls]. Binding: nineteenth-century half calf, with marbled paper on boards; gold lettered black and red spine-labels (some missing); marbled edges and endpapers. (Vol. 1 boards loose.)
