Manuscript number on front pastedown: "2043". Armorial bookplate by George Vertue on title page verso: Boyle impaling Hamilton, earl's coronet, lettered to left of coronet 'J.O.', Boyle's crest to right of coronet, motto 'Honor virtutis praemium', supporters lion and antelope [i.e. John Boyle, 5th Earl of Cork and 5th Earl of Orrery (1706-1762), and his wife (m. 1728) Lady Henrietta Hamilton (1702-1732), daughter of George Earl of Orkney. Franks bequest 3380]. Binding: seventeenth-century full plain vellum, yapp edges; manuscript spine title (very faded).
