Manuscript inscription 'Hartington. Prize. Feb 1795'. [probably William Spencer Cavendish (1790-1858), Marquess of Hartington, later 6th Duke of Devonshire]. Binding: Eighteenth-century full calf; sewn onto five raised supports; spines gilt; red spine labels: 'Brookes's Natural history'.
