[i.e. catalogue code of John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]; with Mitchell's manuscript code at foot of leaf: "ιζ'." [i.e. iota zeta = Greek number 17]. Binding: vols. 1-3: seventeenth-century calf; double blind fillet border, with two quarter double blind fillets, and blind roll pattern along spine-edge and along one quarter double blind fillet; gilt dotted roll pattern on board edges; vol. 1 rebacked in plain brown goatskin, spines of vols. 2-3 gold-tooled; vol. 4: eighteenth-century Cambridge-style panelled calf; gilt roll pattern on board edges; rebacked in plain brown goatskin. All edges stained red.
