[i.e. beta = Greek number 2]. Armorial bookplate on title page verso: 'Sr. Philip Sydenham Bart.', dated 1735 [i.e. Sir Philip Sydenham, 3rd Bt (1676-1739), of Brympton d'Evercy, MP for Somersetshire]. Binding: eighteenth-century sprinkled calf; gilt roll pattern on board edges; gold-tooled spine, with gilt title label. Red sprinkled edges.
