Biblioth. Hohendorff p. 60. no. 400" [i.e. catalogue code and note written by John Mitchell (ca. 1685-1751), librarian to Sir Richard Ellys (1682-1742)]. Binding: eighteenth-century full polished calf; water-staining at foot of boards; sewn on six raised bands; gilt roll pattern border; gilt roll pattern along board edges and turn-ins; gold-tooled spine with crowned dolphin stamps within floral stamp and fillet panels, and dolphin and fleur-de-lys roll at head and tail; gilt title on brown goatskin label on spine. All edges gilt. Comb and swirl marbled endpapers.
