Binding: late eighteenth-century full calf; double gilt fillet to form an outer border; blind rolled inner border of palmettes; sewn onto four recessed cords; gilt and blind tooling on spine; lettered direct (gilt tooled): 'Virgilii Opera à Heyne'; edge rolled in gilt at corners of boards; gilt rolled on turn-ins; marbled edges; grey endpapers; dark blue ribbon marker.
