The day that Jack came home from France. Tho: & Isabella Hervey [i.e. Sir Thomas Hervey (1625-1694) and Isabella Hervey, née Isabella May (1625-1686) “Jack” is presumably their son John Hervey, later 1st Earl of Bristol (1665-1751)]. In another hand: Ex libris Dominae Mariae Herveaei. Ex Dono Domini Comitis De Bristol. 1742. Anna Hervaeus Scripsit [i.e presumably belonged to Mary Lepel, Lady Hervey (1696-1768) and John, Lord Hervey (1696-1743). Anna Hervey as yet unidentified. Binding: Early twentieth-century half red morocco; red cloth sides; gilt spine title: Perelle – Vues des belles maisons de France.

Part of the Bristol Collection. The house and contents were acquired through the National Land Fund and transferred to the National Trust in 1956
