Armorial bookplate (between 1733 and 1754): Philip Lord Hardwicke Baron of Hardwicke in ye County of Gloucester [i.e. Philip Yorke, 1st Earl of Hardwicke (1690-1764), created Baron Hardwicke, 1733, and Earl of Hardwicke, 1754]. Binding: Seventeenth-century blind tooled vellum over boards. Tooling pattern with large strapwork centrepiece and double frames with cornerpieces. Sewn on seven double supports. Title, neatly, in ink at head of spine. Uniform with other volumes from same printer with which it is shelved.
