Provenance: Armorial bookplate (between 1733 and 1754): Philip Lord Hardwicke Baron of Hardwicke in ye County of Gloucester [i.e. Philip Yorke, 1st Earl of Hardwicke (1690-1764), created Baron Hardwicke, 1733, and Earl of Hardwicke, 1754]. Binding: Seventeenth-century sprinkled calf over boards, gilt double fillet and lozenge-shaped floral tools on spine, double gilt fillet on covers, remains of gilt roll on board edges, yellow painted edges. Front cover loose; on six alum-tawed thongs; manuscript waste used as spine support (Latin document). Plate of Amsterdam between pp. 12-13 torn.
