D.B.E." [i.e. Edith Helen Chaplin, m. in 1899 Charles Viscount Castlereagh, 7th Marquess of Londonderry from 1915]. Motto in Scottish Gaelic over portrait ("Tha mo cridhe's an tir nam beann" [My heart is in the land of mountains])plate dated by hand: 29/4/35. Inscribed "With very best wishes to my ever kind friend Lady Londonderry, from Johnnie Andrews, 1st Feb. 1935" [i.e. from John Miller Andrews (1871-1956), PM of Northern Ireland. Binding: twentieth-century half blue calf, with marbled paper boards; gold tooled; five false bands; gold lettered spine label. Binder's ticket on rear pastedown: W. Erskine Mayne, 3, Donegall Sq. W. Belfast.
