M. and motto 'Veritas omnia vincit'; pencil note on pastedown: 'Uncastrated edition' [presumably a reference to Book II Favola II (f. 173), which relates Sandro's castration]. Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Binding: Eighteenth-century full mottled calf over boards; double gilt fillet to form a border; gilt armorial stamp [as yet unidentified, with leopard crest, lion supporters and a griffin and rampant leopard [?] on shield]; spine gilt with title 'Notte di Straparola'; sewn on five raised bands.
