Margaret Snellinge Rasterton (crossed out). 2. Margaret Paston. 3. Margaret R[ ] [illegible] this Book. [The Pastons were linked to the Bedingfields by marriage in the nineteenth century: Sir Henry Richard Paston-Bedingfield, 6th baronet (1800-1862) married Margaret Anne Paston, and assumed the name of Paston from 1830]. Eighteenth or early nineteenth-century armorial bookplate: Sir Richard Bedingfield Bart. (Not found in Franks) [i.e. either 4th baronet (1726-1794) or 5th baronet (1767-1829), both of Oxburgh Hall, Norfolk]. Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Loosely inserted: slip of typed notes by Norris. Binding: Seventeenth-century full mottled calf over boards; blind fillets to form a border; sewn on five raised bands; number "12" in white paint on spine.
