[i.e. probably Sir William Abraham Chatterton, 2nd baronet (1794-1855), of Castle Mahon, Cork, Ireland]. Bequeathed to the National Trust by Norman Norris (1917-1991). Inscribed on pastedown in Norris's hand: Baddesley Clinton 13/3 '40 [Baddesley Clinton, Warwickshire (seat of Ferrers family): the library contained several other books from Castle Mahon]. Binding: Eighteenth-century half calf; marbled paper over boards; spine gilt; red spine label with title 'Paine'.
